News
Like every rescue group, we need food, money, and foster homes! We're always looking for foster homes and volunteers in the Central Texas area. This includes San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding areas. And, since rescue involves money (lots and lots of it) most of which comes from my pocket, we can always use donations. On average, each dog costs me $275 to get ready to adopt out. That's not to say that every dog costs that much, but some dogs cost in excess of $1000 to get healthy enough to adopt out, plus the food and other expenses for the time they're here.
CorgiDane Rescue is applying for a 501(c)3 tax-exempt status, which will make contributions tax-deductible.
If you wonder why you see so many "other" breeds on the website, it's because we do courtesy listings for people who need to re-home their pets. Those postings will tell you who to contact in the pet description. I have no control over them, I'm just listing them as a courtesy to the pet owner.
Helping Udders is a great organization that makes dog toys out of recycled milking materials, and donates 25% of the proceeds to dog rescue organizations. Click below, and if you buy any toys, a donation will be made to CorgiAid (www.corgiaid.org).
Who We Are
An independent rescuer (working on a 501(c)3) dedicated to saving the lives of Welsh Corgis (both Pembrokes and Cardigans), Corgi mixes, and Great Danes. At this time we cannot take on Great Dane mixes.
We are loosely allied with other Corgi rescuers, both club-affiliated and independents, and other Great Dane rescuers, in Texas and around the country.
Adopting a friend
Please call or email, and I will send you an adoption application form. At this time I do not have one on the web (anyone who wants to help me put up a web-based application form, please contact me!) I check your references, and if at all possible visit your home prior to or at the same time I place the dog. I try to match dogs and families/owners. I want each placement to be permanent, and I want the dogs and owners to be happy with each other and compatible with the match.
The adoption fee is $175 for Great Danes, $150 for purebred Corgis, $100 for mixed-breed dogs, and $70 for cats. The adoption fee may be discounted for elderly and heartworm positive dogs and cats. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, have all their shots, and have been tested for heartworms before they leave here.
